Violence

In the Webster dictionary the definition for violence is an "exertion of physical force so as to injure or abuse (as in effecting illegal entry into a house), an instance of violent treatment or procedure injury by or as if by distortion, infringement, or profanation". Violence has always been a part of our world since the beginning of time. Everyday the world witness acts of violence. These acts can be viewed in many forms, such as the press, media and pop culture.
The press has played a huge role on exposing violence to society. Since we are currently in a war it gives a lot for the press to publicize. There isn't a day that goes by where the media doesn't post a picture on the ongoing events of the world. Now a day there has been many graphic photographs of injured and dead people in Israel. Along with horrible stories of the suicide bombings that are killing many people each day. In the classroom children are taught of the dangers of violence. We were taught about great wars and battles that took place all over the world.
The media has also contributed to violence being exposed to the public. There is a variety of television that displays violent matters. Many violent shows were viewed by children and teenagers. Today each show is rated for an appropriate audience due to the dangers and negative influence it can have on teens and children. Restricted rated movies that are aired on television are edited for violence and profanity. There has also been controversy on violence in cartoons. Cartoons are targeted to an audience for children's of the ages 2-10. Popular cartoons such as anime contain physical violence. Children try to replicate in what they see on television, especially when it's their favorite show. So what they see on television makes them believe that it's ok to do those things like that. And when they try to repeat those things people can get injured badly or killed.
