Going To Jail For Nothing

             There is nothing wrong with drinking socially. The problem often comes when people go past their limits and start doing preposterous things. I was once charged with vandalism and trespassing on private property after a social gathering turned into a catastrophe. This gathering was held at three different houses in my addition, which just happens to be, located next to, Meshingomesia Country Club which is a private golf course in Marion, IN. Being accused of something that I didn't do drastically changed my life. This incident happened on the night of March 26, 2001. I was a little bit on the tipsy side but I was still in my right mind.
             Parties among my circle of friends were always made known throughout the school. Most of the previous parties were not well publicized. So the police never showed up because there was no alcohol present so there weren't a lot of bad things happening. All of the high school kids on my block threw a pre-spring break party in my addition before everyone left for Florida or wherever their destination was.
             All of the alcohol was at my best friend Jimmy's house in the basement. So most of the drunks were at his house. I lived on the other side of the street. The people, who wanted to swim, play tennis, basketball, pool or ride Four-Wheelers came to my house. Later in the night some of the guys got the crazy idea to climb the fence behind Jimmy's house and tear up the ninth green on the golf course. I didn't really care because it wasn't the people from my house. So during the night when everyone was winding down the police showed up. First, they showed up at Jimmy's house and gave everyone breathalyzer test. Most of the individuals went to jail that night. Then they came to my house and tried to test people there but I wouldn't let them in without a search warrant. So they left and returned with a search warrant. By then everyone had left so ...
