A Good Man is Hard to Find

             O'Connor's short story on, "A Good Man is Hard to Find" is a good example of foreshadowinging, violence, and realisim.
             The main characters in this story is the Grandmother (antagonist), Baily, (Grandmother's Son), Unnamed (Children's mother), John Wesley (Baily's son), June Star (Baily's daughter)and the misfits.
             The story revolves around the family vacation to Florida. The grandmother complains about having to go to Florida, she would rather go to East Tennessee. And the grandmother insists that the famly not go in the direction of Florida due to the escaped convicts (forshawdowing) Her son and his wife ignore her pleas, John Wesley suggests that she stay home, June Star replies "she would not miss anthing". The Grandmother is the first one ready to go the day the family leaves for the trip, she is dressed well, just in case she were to get in an accident, she wouldn't want anyone to think she wasn't a lady. (foreshadowing).
             During the trip, the grandmother entertains the children, who are rude and sassy. The children's parents have little to say the entire trip. The family stops to eat at Red Sammy's, the discussion about the misfits comes up again (foreshadowing).
             The grandmother, through the children convinces her son to turn down a dirt road to see a old house with a secret door. He complies, during the drive down the dirt road, the grandmother suddenly realizes that this house is in Tennessee. Thus, she was taking the family on this side trip for no reason. She makes a sudden move, that scares the cat. The car flips. The children were disappointed that noone died (irony), when all was said and done. Specifically, their grandmother. The children did not seem to like the grandma very well.
             Minutes later, a car arrives, with three men. The men stop, minutes later, grandma realizes one of the men as an escape. After a brief conversation, including the grandmother pleading to the misfit that "he is a goo
