             As I awoke from the sounds of a journalist, I noticed that it didn't sound like the everyday Spokane news. I looked up at the TV, seeing the World Trade Center with thick black smoke coming out of the South tower. I thought that it was just a fire or something, but as I kept watching I saw the footage of the airplane flying into the side of the South Tower. Then I thought that a plane must have accidentally flown into the South Tower, but then they said that it was "an act of terrorism." As soon as I heard those four words, I instantly became interested in the developing story. I had heard of terrorism before but I thought that it was just car bombs and suicide attacks over in the Middle East, but I never knew that they were capable of doing such a horrible thing to the United States of America. I didn't even know that they didn't like the United States.
             When I left for school the second plane had flown into the North Tower. Then I knew for a fact that this was no accident, but it truly was an act of terrorism. As my mom and I went to pick up my friend to take him to school with us I turned on the radio and switched the station to the Q6 Channel Radio. Then I heard that the South Tower, the first tower that was attacked, had just completely collapsed to the ground with everyone in it. I was stunned when I heard the news. We arrived at my friend's house, and I ran in to get him, because we were already late. And almost as soon as my friend and I got in the car they just said that the North Tower, the second tower that had been attacked, had completely collapsed as the South Tower had too.
             We arrived at school and I told my friends that I would see him after school and we went our separate ways. I got to my first class, which was German, and the TV was on CNN and the teacher said that we could leave the TV on only if we did our in class work too. I couldn't even concentrate on my schoolwork but...
