Movie Review

Why is it that we trust others with our precious memories that we catch on a piece of film. Nina Yorkin, played by Connie Nielson, does this without even thinking about what kind of an obsessive man that Sy Parrish, (Robin Williams), could be and is.This movie didn't appeal to me in a few ways. In my opinion, a good thriller should get your heart pumping and have you on the edge of your seat, gripping the arm rest. This movie did not have that effect on me. Though I did find myself guessing on what might happen next in the upcoming scenes of the movie, I wasn't terrified for the Yorkin's as I should have been. In my eyes, the movie was a little on the boring side. Also, I could not come to believe that someone would actually get as

Sy takes his job very seriously and when he discovers a love affair between Nina's husband, Will Yorkin (Michael Vartan) and another customer, he investigates. In his mind he is a part of the Yorkins' family. Sy parrish has lived a good part of the Yorkins' family with just there memories caught on film and of what Nina tells him. The plot was definitely something new and never have I seen anything like it before. I don't know how he does it but Robin really gets in the mind set of his characters and seems like he actually becomes his character that he plays in all of his movies. Sy locates Will and his lover in a hotel only to kidnap the two and take pictures of them as proof to Nina of what is going on behind her back. Robin Williams's acting was superb as usual even though this is something completely new for him. Also, what happened to the quote "Don't talk to strangers"? Nina put the wrong idea into Jakes head when she continuously conversed with Sy about her family affairs. I never thought that I would see the day. At the end of a good thriller I like to ask myself, could this happen to me or someone I know? In this case, I could actually see the photo guy keeping some photos for his personal pleasure, (No big deal might I add!) but it's highly doubtful that he would keep a collection of hundreds of pictures and paste them to a living-room wall, waiting for someone to find. Although the suspense was very low, the acting was excellent. Overall, I think that this was a good movie and I would give it a 3. This is the first time that I have ever seen Williams play the part of a psycho stalker. close to the Photo Developer in their local drugstore as did Nina and her son, Jake, played by Dylin Smith.
