. . .
In contrast, Rainsford was very careful the whole time and, he was smart enough to think of swimming around the island instead of allowing General Zaroff to catch and kill him. In addition, General Zaroff is more conceded than intelligent, and Rainsford is just the opposite. They both felt that they are better than all other hunters in the world are. These men also have several differences such as where they are from, their level of morality, and their intensity while hunting.

In conclusion, you can see that Rainsford and General Zaroff have several similarities such as being arrogant, intelligent, and ruthless hunters. Finally, these character traits played a major role in the flow and outcome of the story. General Zaroff is a Cossack hailing from Russia while Rainsford is an American from New York City. On the other hand, General Zaroff seems to be a lonely introvert, because he lives on a remote island with his bodyguard Ivan. Rainsford does, however, as is demonstrated by his outrage when General Zaroff informs Rainsford that he will play the game and hunt other humans. For these reasons, you can see that there are many similarities between Rainsford and General Zaroff.

There are also many differences between Rainsford and General Zaroff. Next, Rainsford is sociable and very outgoing. For these reasons, you can conclude that there are many differences between Rainsford and General Zaroff.
