Should Homework Be Given To Students On A Daily Basis?
Homework is something that kids have to go through all of their lives while in school. It doesn’t matter the age group, students have all been loaded with a ton of homework at sometime. We the accelerated students of William A. Wirt High School declare our independence from homework. We will no longer tolerate its injustice. When in the course of scholastic events, it becomes necessary to discontinue certain ineffective practices that have
limited the extra-curricular activities of the student bodies. We the students are forced to speak out against these practices, and rebel for the greater good of humanity. We have been chosen to convey to the faculty the reasons to discontinue the practice. Homework can be a inconvenience to students as well as teachers, it causes stress at an early age, and it is just a waste of time.
Homework should not be given daily because it is a inconvenience to students as well as teachers. Homework limits the students time for extra-curricular activities. We all are young and have lives to live and shouldn’t have homework on our minds. Most students in high school have jobs to attend to and really don’t have time to be bothered with the nuisance of homework. Homework can also be inconvienent on a the teachers prospective as well. The concept of homework is so embedded into the minds of teachers that you don’t even realize it. Assigning homework means that the teacher must waste valuable class time going over it when they could be teaching the subject matter just as effectively. The next reason is stress at an early age.
Homework can be very stressful on a students’ life. It is unhealthy for young people like ourselves to undergo so much stress. Night after night staying up late and not getting enough sleep because we have so much homework to complete. Homework causes overall dislike of the school system...
