Love

             In the political midst of controversial topics that engulf our society, I write on the most basic and yet debated topics of all time – love.
             Many modern writers have aimed to write about the Romantic Tradition in various ways, but to be completely honest, in doing so they have misled many little girls, and I myself have grown up naive. I have grown up believing that one day my Prince Charming or Knight in Shining Armor will come and find me and whisk me off into the sunset on his beautiful white horse, only to live happily ever after.
             I am not alone either in believing in such a fairy tale, many women wait for that "perfect man" to come along, and they wait only to be disappointed. They then find out that not only is this man unattainable, but non-existent. They find that not only is the perfect man unattainable, but so is the "perfect love life". There is no such thing as a perfect love as every relationship has its ups and downs; love is what you make it to be.
             For such an overused word, so many people have no idea what it means to love. In the story, A Man from Mars, Christine believes that no man will love her because she is unattractive, and unappealing. Among m she was considered an "honorary person" instead of a woman, as she was viewed as an exception as she filled none of the categories commonly used when referring to females.
             "She was an exception, she filled none of the categories they commonly used when talking about girls; she wasn't a cockteaser, a cold fish, an easy lay or a snarky bitch; she was an honorary person. She had grown to share their contempt for most women."
