The Results of Excessive Love and Hate

Romeo and Juliet was filled with two emotions, love and hate. Many other emotions were

incorporated into this play, but none were more defined than those two. Exuberant amounts of

love and hate can have positive or negative consequences, such as death, true love, or fighting.

William Shakespeare included all of these into the play, Romeo and Juliet’’s death, the family

feuding, the marriage, and the two fights between Tybalt and Mercutio and Romeo and Mercutio.

The incorporation of these elements made the play very interesting. They did not imagine that

their love would lead to the tragedies that it did. These two young people did nothing wrong

except fall in love. Three aspects of their destruction included the feud between the two families,

The violence that caused an unwanted death and the most important aspect of all is fate.

Both love and hate caused Romeo and Juliet’’s death. The love Romeo had for Juliet

caused him to kill himself when thought that Juliet had killed herself. When Juliet woke up from

the potion, she saw Romeo dead so she killed herself. They both would have been alive if it were

. . .

The feuding of the families was the

whole reason for the tragedy. Also, Many difficult decisions had to be made. The quote describes the love that Rome has for Juliet it is so strong

that he would do anything for her:

"Wert thou as young as I, Juliet thy love. He would not have killed himself when he found Juliet in the crypt. Because Romeo thought Juliet was dead he drank some poison and when

Juliet awoke, and found Romeo dead, she stabbed herself. In fact they were only fighting because that is what their

parents had taught them. They

didn't even know what they were fighting about.
