I feel that in the poems: The Bridge, The Old Stoic, and I Am Not One of Those Who Left the Land, courage is displayed in many different ways. In the poem The Bridge, the character is depicted as having an unstable sense of assurance about crossing the bridge. It shows us that he is second guessing the difficult task of crossing the bridge. Little did
The character that she portrays is a stoic, and does not rely on material goods for pleasure. She struggles with her country, but she has the courage to stay. we know that as he is saying this, he is crossing the bridge. It is about a woman who has the courage to stay when others leave. The courage of one to defeat an obstacle that is put in their way is very honorable and admirable. She has the courage to be truly free from suffering. She has the courage to go against the boundaries of society. The character in this poem truly did have courage, because courage isn't something that one recognizes that they have. The poem is a good depiction of a courageous person, because it tells the ideas of someone is not afraid to go against the status quo. The last poem deals with courage in a different way than the other two. In the poem The Stoic, there is a clear understanding of what the author is trying to get across. She has courage in a different way then many people. Her display of courage is truly passionate and is described by her words and emotions.
