What is a Christian? According to yourdictionary.com a Christian is a person professing belief in Jesus as Christ or following the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus. Just like there are steps to baking a cake, there are steps to becoming a Christian. The steps to becoming a Christian are hearing the word, believing that Jesus Christ is the son of God, repenting of your sins, confessing all your faults, being baptized in the watery grave of baptism, and walking a new life.
             Hearing the word is the 1st step in becoming a Christian. In Romans 10:17 the NKJV states, so then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. In order to hear the word you have to open up your ears for understanding and you have to open up your heart, because you might hear some things you don't want to be true, but in order to become a Christian you must hear. If you haven't heard the word then you can't believe the word, which is the 2nd step in becoming a Christian. In Hebrews 11:6 of NKJV it states Without Faith it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him. So you must believe that the God is real and that he has a place for all Christians if they be faithful unto death.
             The 3rd step in becoming a Christian is repenting of all your sins. Repenting means to change, in the NKJV, Acts 2:38, states then peter said unto them," repent, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost". After you have repented or change your ways you must then confess your sins, which is the 4th step to becoming a Christian. Matthew 10:32 of the NKJV states but whosoever shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my father which is in heaven.
