             The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens
             This book is a self-help book for teenagers and adults. There is a book that follows it called, Seven Habits of a Highly Effective Person, however it was a little dry. For this reason I read the book for teenagers. Even though, this book was written for teenagers it sounds like the author wrote it to adults. The book is broken into four parts, and the habits are broken into groups accordingly.
             Part one talk about what a habit is, and that it can make or break you. It is also an introduction. The author introduces himself, and writes the book as if he is holding a conversation with you. It also gives an outline of the book. It also tells you how this book is going to help you. He also tells you what a paradigm, or perception, can work for you or against you. He then talks about what the center of your life is. He then tells you to look at yourself as a personal bank account. And tells you such things as "positive deposit" is keeping promises to yourself, and "withdraws" are breaking personal promises. It was a very interesting way to look at things.
             Part two deals with the fist habit, being proactive, as opposed to being reactive. For instance, A reactive teen would say, "That's just the way I am," a proactive teen would say, "I can do better than that." It shows a different way to look at life. Habit two is begin with the end in mind. In other words control your own destiny or someone else will. In habit two it talks about the crossroads of life. It shows how and why to make a mission statement. Set your goal and go for it, is basically what the habit two is about. Habit three is put first things first, will and won't power. This teaches how to pack more time into life. He talks a lot about time management. Then it goes right into comfort and courage zones there are a lot of very helpful tips to prioritize. Thi
