The Spansih Civil war

" The great dimensions among human kind and the dominating source of conflict will be cultural . Nation Sates will remain the most powerful actors in world affairs, but the principle conflicts of global politics will occur between nations and groups of different civilizations." (Huntington, S, 1993).The following essay will focus on the Spanish Civil War and will attempt to outline a primary single cause of this bloody conflict that occurred in Spain. This conflict has generated a considerable amount of books and due to it's extreme significance , it has what we call a literary epitaph which puts it on par with the Second World War. This demonstrates the extent of this conflict and that is why I sought interest to study this conflict in more detail and outline the primary cause of this battle between the right and left wing parties which is the liberal Republic-socialist government who failed in their pursuit of reformation and accentuated the class struggle in Spain. It was surprisingly above all a great international battleground of fascism and communism with all its proponents and opponents. Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin and Trotsky all had substantial parts in the Spanish drama. " The Spanish civil war is burne

It had been noted that even before the Republic had been established, followers of General Primo de Devera had been trying to build barricades against Liberalism and Republicanism. For the Republic to survive, it had to increase wages and cut unemployment. The Republican Constitution and the Deprivation of the working class and the ChurchThe primary task of the Constituent Cortes was to give Spain a new Constitution. In Spain as a whole, until the middle of the nineteenth century , the accepted form of government was monarchy, the accepted religion was that embodied in the Roman Catholic Church. Ultimately, the Spanish Civil war was to grow out of the efforts of the progressive leaders of the Republic to carry out reform against the wishes of the most powerful sections of society. The upper classes were threatened by the fact that reforms would affect their position whilst the middle class intellectuals supported the Republican Socialist Government. The socialist minister of finance, Indalecio Prieto announced at the first meeting of ministers that the financial position of the regime was being endangered by a large- scale withdrawal of wealth from the country. The peasantry saw the need to establish a proletarian-controlled economy. The Spanish Civil war became a major world event, dividing people outside Spain as well as inside. ConclusionIn light of the above, we can conclude that the Spanish Civil War was a classic case of Intra-State wars that was very violent. Intrastate WarsDefinition and CausesIntra-state Wars involves a fight or conflict that occurs inside one country and many a times this conflict becomes Internationalized due to spill over effects (refugees). In this Spanish Case, we have many countries supporting either the left wing or the right wing to establish Communism or Fascism respectively. Most Intra-State wars occur because there are problems with legitimacy.
