Apprehension consumes me as I step foot into Agriculture Building 2 to attend this year’s Insect Fair. Insects and I are not the best of friends. Ever since I have been young insects have scared me to death. From the very first room I entered at the insect fair, I stood in awe at all of the scary creatures that lie before me. From Diplopoda, to Chilopoda, to Arachnida, and Insecta, wherever I turned there were more creatures than I could ever count. It is amazing to me how many people enjoy catching those things, and collecting them. They are so proud of their collection, and rightfully so. If I had the nerv

The Insect Fair was definitely an experience that I will never forget. Even though the crowdedness put a slight damper on the experience, it did not lessen from the entire event as a whole. The phenomenon however I will appreciate more because of the skills that insects have to possess, along with their appearance for survival.
I definitely would have liked to attend the Insect Fair and have it less crowded so that I would be able to really take my time and fully consume the whole experience. e to catch anything like what I saw I would be just as proud, if not more so. The especially fun part of the whole experience was relating the day to my previous reading from Travel’s With My Antholon. Never before have I been introduced to such a wondrous world as that of the insect, and all of its orders, classes, and species. I still cannot believe that many creatures, and I’m sure even more, exist along with us. Unfortunately, I believe in a sense that is only applicable to insects. Each room consisted of hundreds of creatures and what seemed to be as many people viewing them. The association of this realization is remarkable because when I think of the human race and how diverse we are, like many insects are, I have never attributed our diversity to our existence as a whole. The fair definitely provided me with another perspective on the insect world and all that is out there. I surely walk away with a different perspective than what I walked in with. I say this because by reading the book I became aware of the various types of creatures that surround us on this earth, and it was fun to see some of them at the Insect Fair and recognize what insect they were and which class they belonged to and so on.
