The Hidden Effects of American Unemployment

             The jobless rate in America, the richest and most powerful nation in the world, seems to be of no importance to those functioning in the political realm. After observing the blindness of those in power in the United States, one must raise the hard questions to those in power. Do they realize the extent of the problem? Do they know but are openly unconcerned? I honestly feel as if they just simply couldn't care less. Looking out for their own profits is number one to these people. Big tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, out sourcing of jobs, and stripping away of the worker's benefits are just a few examples. Unemployment affects more than just the worker but reaches the retired all the way to the nations youngest. It seems as if those who are in charge of passing laws and regulations here in America are not going to change unless they experience the hardship of unemployment themselves. The very hardship they are helping to further heap on the backs of the American citizens.
             The Unseen Effects of Unemployment in America
             Millions are out of work, yet what impact does job loss truly have? One loses a job and if able, simply finds another; this is not the case anymore. Now those who would have had no trouble finding employment only a few short years ago are mailing off hundreds of resumes to no avail. The job market in America is now drier than the Sahara. While we hear terms used by those in the current Administration and Federal Reserve such as "competitive job market" and "sustained growth", these terms mean nothing when people are going without food to eat and a roof over their heads. Those who are turning a blind eye fail to re alize that the jobless in America are in the worst kind of mire and sinking deeper in it as each day passes.
