Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player ever. No other NBA player has had as much success as Michael. Not only was he the greatest basketball player but he also was the most marketable. Michael has become an idol not for just athletes but for all people. Michael once said "I've failed over and over in my life and that is why I succeed". This is Michaels 14th season in the NBA. He is the all time NBA scoring average leader averaging 31.4 points per game. He has been selected to the All-NBA first team 10 times in his career. Not a slouch on defense either he was nominated the NBA's All-Defensive first team 9 times and was chosen as defensive player of the year during the 87-88 season. From 1986-87 to 1992-93 Michael led the league in scoring a record tying seven years in a row. During the 1995-96 season Michaels Bulls won a NBA record 72 games only losing 10. He once scored 63 points against Boston in the playoffs also a NBA record. He is the greatest offensive player of all time and the greatest defensive guard of all time. To go along with his 6 NBA championship trophies he has 6 NBA Finals MVP trophies. During the 1988 All Star game held in his hometown Chicago he scored 40 points and beat out Dominique Wilkins for the slam-dunk trophy by dunking from the free throw line. He holds the NBA's highest playoff scoring average with 33. Not only is Mike a sports icon but also an icon for all people. He is the All-time NBA All-Star Game leader in steals (33), third in points (234) and ninth in assists (49). In conclusion If I had to choose a All-NBA team my first pick would be none other than Michael Jordan. One of only 7 players ever to lead their team in 4 statistical categories scoring, assists, rebounds and steals and the only rookie to ever do so. He has been voted the All Star MVP 3 times in 1988, 1996 and 1998.
