They decided not to give up but to believe in God and stay faithful. They hoped that God would lead them to the New World safe, so they never gave up and always kept their faith in God. It reads "So they committed themselves to the will of God and resolved to proceed. ith a grievous disease of which he died in a desperate manner, and so he was the first that was thrown overboard. A third example appears in the beginning of the second paragraph on page 68. " This quote shows that the people believe in miracles. " This quote shows the way that God punished the cruel man whom was showing arrogant superiority to those who he viewed as "unworthy. He would tell them that he hoped to cast half of them overboard before the end of the journey.
