A huge concern for many people is how these games are going to be funded. The rewards will reach every community and industry. This is an opportunity of a lifetime and if we pass it up we will be regretting it for the rest of our life. When people think of Canada they think of people living in igloos and lumberjacks lets show them what Canada is all about. The actual cost for the event is going to be covered by the revenues from the event, such as TV broadcast rights, sponsorship, ticket sales, licensing fees, donations and sale of some assets after the games. This is a realistic scenario considering the $160 million profit received by Salt Lake City. Vancouver already has a huge tourist economy so will be able to cope with the huge demand for accommodation, food and entertainment. The province has pledged $310 million over six years to cover the cost of facilities and the games, and the federal government offers to match this investment. Federal and Provincial government will contribute to the cost by funding of services such as policing and security which is a vital for the success of the Games. We should be proud to live in such a great city and offer to show the world its beauty.

If you look at the long term effects the Olympic Winter Games will have on Vancouver you can easily see that it would be a virtue to hold them.
