Discipline VS Child Abuse
A cute little child is playing in the park, not even worried about a thing. The child is smiling and running around having fun. But when the child goes home, the child gets yelled at, hit and beaten up by his own parents for no reason. He ends up with bruises, and cuts all around his body crying in pain and fear. Is that something a child deserves? Often parents try hard to raise a well mannered and a well disciplined child. But itfs a thin line between discipline and child abuse. Itfs okay to spank the child to remind the child what he or she did was wrong, but what about smacking a young child strongly across their face? In our minds, we know that discipline is a strict training or control to enforce obedience and to develop self-control and abuse is to mistreat a person by violence or by using coarse languages. Itfs sad to say, that even though parents know the difference in their heads but at times donft know the difference with their hands and feet physically. There are moments today, where child abuse is going on. Children getting hit, getting kicked, getting verbally abused and tortured not only by their father, but also by their mother. It seems as if child abuse doesnft seem to be going on to the people
I have seen children come in with broken bones and bandages all over their body. There should be also more foster families that would take care of the abused child or a place where the child could stay in other for the child to be away from a violent environment, so the child wonft be abused. Children who witness violence at home display emotional and behavioral disturbances as diverse ad withdrawal, low self-esteem, nightmares, self-blame and aggression against peers, family members and property. There should be enough hospitals for the abused children to go to, in order for then to be taken care of and properly looked after. There should be more hospitals and health cares for the children to help them. If the cause of abuse is from stress due to unwanted or teen pregnancies, the parents should take more consideration into protection and maybe think of giving up the child for adoption and really should think things over. So they are more likely to abuse children of their own in the future. Child abuse is going on frequently in the world today and it is not just happening in one place. Some has to do with unwanted and teen pregnancies, resulting in neglect and violence from the parents due to the stress and from not knowing how to raise and discipline a child. There should be spokespersons, who has an experience in abusing a child and is going through counseling, lecture or have a speech about child abuse and explain the importance and the wrong doing of child abuse and also explain the emotional aspects of it. The Child Abuse and Neglect National Statistics states, gAn estimated 1,100 children died of abuse and neglect. It causes physical damage to the children, at times leaving them scarred for life physically and not only that but sometimes it can result in death for the children who are weak and young who couldnft survive the attack. Majority of the children who has been abused later on has nightmares, has a hard time trusting people and making friends, prefers to be alone and develop a strong feeling of paranoia. Maybe it will help the parents realize their problems and have a better understanding of themselves to why they can be abusive and can also think of ways to resolve their problems.
