Commemorating September 11, 2001

September 11, 2001 is an unforgettable day, forever etched in the minds of people around the world. The effect was so extreme, that the whole nation, our community, my family, and myself, personally, have been greatly impacted.

As for the whole country, the economic was down terrible. Businesses in America are like a train. When one car is off the track or fails, the whole train would have an accident. For example, after September 11, 2001, people are nervous while they are traveling on airplanes. Because of that, people tend to travel less. Tourist attractions have lost their profits heavily, especially here in the Sunshine State. In our state, nearly a majority of our businesses depend significantly on tourism. To name just a few, Busch Gardens, Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, are all indirect victims of September 11. The damage has not stopped at attractions. For example, they have high alert for anthrax in the mail. Everyone in America as well as other countries in the free world were affected. The prices of everything went up suddenly. My parents’ income from the unemployment compensation was not enough.

The impact of Sept 11, 2001 was so huge. However, I will study harder and help the United States in any way I can, to be a better country, where the fear that people feel today is replaced by confidence and security. I could fly freely all over the world. However, that was only in the past. Airport security workers have to search and look for any possible signs of terrorists. They changed the way they think and live their lives in the negative way. Moreover, extremists even try to attack mosques in the United States for revenge. They have to live in the fear of terrorist attacks.

I, personally, have a fear of terrorist attacks, like everyone else. The Muslims in these mosques might be innocent people, who just want the human rights, which they could not get in their countries. Before the September 11, Americans had no problem with Arab people, now many just want to get rid of Arab people.
