             Laundry, the task once thought simple by the soon-to-be student, can result in a nightmare first semester. Some students even name self-service laundry as a cause for their abandonment of college classes. No freshman can say he desires the presence of his mother within a 30 mile radius of his campus, let alone in his dorm, but in her absence, disaster often ensues.
             Many resort to wearing wrinkled, stained, or even stinking clothes. Clothing of this sort often mingles with sweaty socks, left-over pizza, or biology projects gone horribly wrong. However, rarely does a pursuer catch the cutie in BIO 101 while wearing a shirt that smells like a rancid swamp. The nick-name "Swamp Thing" has a negative connotation.
             Simple techniques such as pre-soaking, pre-treating, and emptying the lint trap (or in more sophisticated circles, the lint screen) make life a box of the most delectable chocolates, the kind the cutie in BIO 101 might enjoy. Make sure she has no allergy to cocoa.
             Efficient laundry begins with preventative measures. Those with little money should wear clothes meant for dress and professionalism gently. Hanging or folding clothes after wearing them can cut down the amount of unnecessary laundry drastically. Knees of jeans wear out easily when the wearer walks on them. Clothes washed too often can go to ruin.
             Sorting the heap of clothing commences the washing process. To sort clothes, one must posses both the ability of sight, and the gift of differentiation of colors. The legally blind and color blind have no place in the laundry process. These groups often require more suitable arrangements.
