Celebrities and their Right to Privacy

             Many people believe that when someone becomes a celebrity they must to give up their right to privacy. This statement is completely incorrect. When a person becomes a celebrity that person does not want to give up their right to privacy, it is the star crazy fans that force reporters to dive into celebrities' private lives and uncover their deepest darkest secrets, not because people care about the celebrity put because it is entertaining. Star crazy fans have forced many credible people to become shunned by society. President Clinton was a victim of this kind of thinking.
             When the news came out of Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton's relationship, American society went mad. There were many people who despised the President after that. The Senate impeached him but he was never forced to leave office, he was forbidden to practice law in the state of Arkansas, and his wife put him on a shorter leash then ever before. Finally, and possibly worst of all, he was the butt of every late night T.V. show hosts jokes for the next six months.
             Many people thought that since he was the president the American people had a right to know about his private life. I do not agree with this statement because I believe that a person has a right to a private life no matter what. The Bill of Rights implies that every person has a right to privacy. It never says that every person has a right to privacy except if you are a celebrity. I found it unlawful that people were allowed to go to the white house and question Pres. Clintons' wife and daughter how they felt about his infidelity.
             The act of going to a persons house, no matter who the person is, and asking the daughter how she feels about her father cheating on her mother is just inexcusable. This not only damages the family's well being but also damages the daughters' mental health. As a son I would be severely disturbed if the entire country knew how I felt...
