             Television has become societies babysitter, while parents are off doing other things. The main stream of children watches three to four hours a day seven days a week. That ends up being just about twenty-eight hours of television a week or more. Seventy-five present of all television programs contain violence. The percentage skyrockets to ninety present when looking at children's programming according to the National Television Violence Study. Violence on television dose has an effect of youths and should be censored just like pornographic material is censored.
             Society hates regulations and is willing to put up a fight just for the sack of argument. Like teenagers rebelling against any rules that parents gave. Some say violence has no effect on the aggressions of youths today. Adults urge that the countless hours of violent television they watched have no effect on them. Why will it now have an effect on my children? The lack of proof showing that violence on TV causes violence in real life. Also censoring television goes against the first amendment freedom of speech and press.
             Like an insult people become defensives when asked if they can tell the difference between reality and TV reality. But why have thousands of studies show the correlation between violence viewed on TV and the raising of aggression in all ages. The cause of violence is so hard to define because there are so many factors. Like trying to figure out which raindrop caused which ripple in the lake. Most media groups choose to scapegoat through gun control, drugs, poverty, family breakdown and others. But if media dose not have an effect on people point of views the billions of dollars spent on advertising has gone to waste. But televisions dose have and effect and the media knows this.
