Rise and the fall of the Nazis Party

On the 30th of January 1933, Hitler became Chancellor of Germany. This lead to the Nazis party being the only party allowed in the Reichstag, and giving them total control of Germany, without anyone to stop them. Their rise to power was turbulent, from a failed revolution to a modern political campaign. The Nazis was started around about 1919, at first they were called the German worker's Party. They were unhappy at the government for signing the treaty of Versailles. They wanted to make Germany great again. At first it was only a tiny organisation, the first meeting only attracted 25 people. In September of 1919, a man called Adolf Hitler joined the party. He saw the opportunity to build a mass organisation out of this tiny organisation. He was put in charge of public relations and propaganda. He used his talent for propaganda and public speaking, to stir up the crowd at meetings. In April of 1920, Hitler changes the name of the party to National

However his increase in support did not last. With the failed revolution and dwindling support, Hitler decided that the only way to get into power was to win people's votes. However this attempt to seize power failed, and Hitler was arrested and sent to prison, for treason. On the 8th of November 1923, he and other Nazis and S. Many people believed this and joined the Nazis party. tried to seize power by holding the head of the Bavarian government, the head of police and the commander of the armies in Bavaria; to gunpoint until they joined him. People weren't angry with the government any more, so support for extremist parties, like the Nazi Party, fell. People grew unhappier with the government blaming them for not stopping the inflation. The hyperinflation which had crippled most of Germany, in the early 1920's was had ended when an American Banker reduced the amount of reparations Germany had to pay. The local branches then could concentrate on winning people's support in there area alone. in smart uniforms and made them march behind flags and banners. The German Mark was practically worthless. During his time in prison he wrote 'Mein Kampf' which outlined his own political ideas and those of the Nazi Party.
