Banning drugs from all sports and then reinforcing that by frequent drug testing may cause chaos for a short while, but in the long run will get rid of all drug use in sports. This will again lower the bar for athletes that just want to have fun and mold their bodies into top physical condition without sacrificing their health. People do not want to see a man on speed outrun everyone else in a race, because they would know that the man is cheating.
Sports is becoming a very unhealthy way to have fun. Today’s kids are having their bodies subjected to drugs because that is what everyone tells them that they need because many other student athletes are using them to gain an edge. Even more than winning, athletes love their sports and would not risk their privilege to play just to gain an edge.
Decreasing the amount of drug users in sports will require frequent drug testing and punishments to those athletes that are using. king hard to master a sport is now just a waste of time. The same goes for other drugs because they artificially aid in the performance of an athlete. People see top athletes using drugs and immediately see drugs as the reason for their achievements. Athletes are role models to society and have a responsibility to the public to reveal weather or not they are truly special, or if their success due to an artificial drug. Parents want their kids to be healthy, to have fun, and to hopefully make a lot of money playing sports, but when drugs are added to the equation, then the health part of sports is dramatically decreased. No person is going to spent all of their time training to reach the physical requirements of a sport when they can just use drugs to get the same effect in a shorter amount of time.
