A Day In My Shoes
About two years ago, my mother and I went for a day of shopping at Pebbles. It seemed like a regular day, but I was fooled. I did my usual thing. I left my mom and went shopping on my own. As I walked around the store, I felt eyes watching me. I didn't pay attention to it though. I found a couple of pairs of jeans and a shirt that I liked. I gathered them up and headed to the dressing room. As I was walking to the dressing room, I saw some sunglasses I liked. I decided to pick them up and try them on with my newly found outfits. I made my way to the dressing room and tried my clothes on. After I tried them on, I grabbed the clothes and headed out. I hung the clothes up and walked off to find my mom. As I was walking to find my mother, a person tapped me on my shoulders. I turned around slowly and noticed this six foot eight monster.
I turned around and saw the same lady following me. In my lifetime I have learned that all races steal, kill and rape. Then finally, I put the cup down and went to find my mom. The security guard finally stopped following me. This little incident has changed my life dearly. The first is how people can be stereotypical. I walked into the dressing room and picked up the glasses. My stomach dropped and I began to tremble. I learned two major things out of this experience. As we walked back to the dressing room, I could feel a million eyes watching me. To this day, I haven't been back to Peebles. The second I learned is that people let the world make their decisions for them. She didn't say thank you or anything.
