I would like to join
Hi my name is Brittany, and I would like to be in the upward bound program, because I think it would benefit me academically and mentally. I have heard a lot of good things about the program, and decided it was something I wanted to be involved in. Sometimes I get tired of school, and start going off track with grades, and I need some type of motivation to keep me going. My family, and teachers are a big help, but I just need that extra motivation and security to help me achieve my goals. At times I sit and wonder is college what I really want to do after high school, and if so what is it like, and what is it going to bring me .I think that upward bound would answer these questions for me, and show me the way.
I have been told I'm a very smart girl, sometimes I believe it, and sometimes I don't. I know at times I struggle in certain subjects, and I get upset with myself, because I know I can do better than what I do. In closing I hope you think I have what it takes to be in the program and take my application in consideration thank you for your time. Sincerely yours, Brittany . My mom, and dad always tell me to do well in school, and go to college, and to be something in life. Sometimes I wish I could have a tutor that can give me that extra help I need in certain subjects. I know I was not selected as one of the few students at my school to be in the program, but I think I got what it takes to be in the program, and will represent it in the most mannered way as possible. I will show respect to the others in the program along with the teachers/ advisors, and be on my best behavior. The reason why I say this is, because I have been classified as a gifted child. I always say I will be the best I can, and I do try . I do not think that a gifted child in anyway would sit, and struggle at times to keep their grades up. My responsibilities as a participant in the upward bound program will be that I will have to be dedicated to my grades as well as to the tutoring classes I will have to attend. That's one reason why I think that upward bound would benefit me to keep me on track, and give me the extra help I need to succeed. I will represent this program in an orderly fashion way, and will be glad to say that I'm apart of it. One day when I become successful I will be able to tell other young people what upward bound meant to me, and how it helped me to achieve my goals.
