Achilles angered by giving Briseis to his enemy, has refused to fight in the Trojan War and also has already begged his mother to persuade Zeus to help the Trojans, which outrages Hera, Zeus's wife. His mother was a goddess, but his father was immortal. A dramatic quote which concludes his thoughts states, "Mother tells me, the immortal goddess Thetis with her glistening feet, that two fates bear me on to the day of death. Achilles had to choose what decision to make after his dilemma with Agamemnon and the Trojan War. Zeus was not even capable of changing fate and if he tried it would cost him a great deal.
