Delta Blue comes from a region in the southern part of Mississippi, a place referred to as "the land where the blues were born. Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry made a really big change. Pop music in fact is still going on today. People at that time wanted to hear faster and louder music. Delta Blues was also very well known. The Blues was a form of emotional expression that was centered on a predominately vocal medium. Interestingly enough, the first real blues recordings were made in the 1920s by woman such as Ma Rainey, Ida Cox and Bessie Smith. R&B clearly has its origins in the secular folk music of the American black musician- the Blues. One of the most influential of them all in the development of the blues is Louis Jordan who, who originally with a relatively small band, began to make blues based records with humorous lyrics and a rhythm owing as much to boogie woogie as to the more traditional classic blues. Soul music inspired other styles of music like Pop and Funk music. In the 1950's people wanted a different change in the music. Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry invented what we call today Rock and Roll.
