The bell rang, my fifth period government exam was over, and school was officially out. My last summer of high school had started and I was soon to become a freshman in college. The only thing on my mind was relaxing and having fun with my friends. Their thoughts were the same except this was our last summer together before we went to college. So we knew we had to make the best of our time because change was forcing its weight upon us.
Since the very early parts of elementary school up to the end of high school, I had the same group of good friends. We would always invite each other over for birthdays and other events that involved fun. Of course I had other friends but these were my best friends. Most of us had joined choir in junior high and stuck with it till the end. We immensely enjoyed it because we would be together having fun, singing. We all went shopping numerous times trying to get everything we needed for college. Packing seemed odd because you took just about everything away and reserved it for your new home. Not that I don’t have friends here because I do. It got me by with my bills but I still neglected my debt. In one week I had three tests that I had to rush and cram for just so I could pass them. When we actually did things together, we would go to Galveston's Surfside beach, which was our favorite and visited weekly. But since I spent more time with my friends and didn’t apply study habits for the future, I’m paying for it now.
