1984

             1984 is George Orwell's most famous and perfect negative utopian novel. It remains one of the most powerful warnings ever made against the dangers of a totalitarian government today. 1984 also shows the worst human society imaginable, and convinces readers to avoid any path that might lead toward degradation. In this book, Winston Smith, 1984's main character, takes you into a world you thought was unknown. Along with his sidekick, Julia, they both take you on a journey to a society that includes diverse parties, governments, telescreens, and thought police that watch every move you make and every step you take. With that, they face several obstacles together and react in unlike ways, which show there opposite personalities and qualities.
             One of the main differences between Winston and his lover Julia is their outlook on the world. Winston is a 39 year-old man who has lived under Big Brothers laws and conditions for many years, while Julia is only and these rules are still somewhat new to her. Julia is a very content person and she is willing to accept the world as it is. One may believe that she does not care enough about the government or world. She as well does not respect it enough either. Now on the contrary, Winston is the complete opposite. Winston believes that the society needs to be altered. He is sick of the world and the Party's rigid control over his life and society. This is why he begins trying to rebel against the Party and Big Brother by starting to write defiant thoughts in a secret journal and then having an illegal affair with Julia. With these two differences between the lovers, it shows the audience how young and old people can have conflicting outlooks on the same civilization.
