Philosophy

Nagel, Craig, and Tolstoy all proposed their ideas on the meaning of life. Thomas Nagel states that nothing we do matters. Nothing will go on forever, so big deal if what someone does today affects someone in the future. Nagel says, “Perhaps the belief in God is the belief that the universe is intelligible, but not to us. Nagel 7” This tells me that Nagel is not a Christian. He obviously believes in something else. If nothing matters, then why did he pick up his pen and write this crap of his in the first place. Obviously this sense of thought matters to him and he wanted to let others know that it was the way to think. Nagel then goes to say that, “Life may be not only meaningless but absurd. 7” If he thinks his life is meaningless and absurd, which obviously he does because he does not believe in God, then

. . .

As for the other two, they will be burning in hell. I wish he would because he is starting to annoy me. He has considered all of the other religions and figured out on his own that Christianity is the right one. This is the way I was raised and I feel like non-believers will not make it to paradise with God and the other followers. Unless Nagel and Tolstoy give their hearts to Jesus, they will burn for eternity. Because according to him, nothing will matter in two hundred years anyways, so lets just do away with him now. I know this is only my opinion, but we are all entitled to one and I believe Tolstoy is wrong.

William Craig is a believer in God. I believe Craig is an intelligent man and thinks out all of the possibilities. These guys might be happy for the time being, but what about after they die? These gentlemen are not thinking about the “grand scheme of things”, because they are still non-believers.

Out of all three authors, I believe Craig is the only one I will be seeing in heaven. “For if there is no God, then man’s life becomes absurd. he needs to put a gun to his brain and blow himself into hell. Tolstoy’s piece says nothing to the reader but an account of his own life and the things that matter to himself.
