There are several ways in which one voices their views and beliefs about religion. Whether it is within the scope of conversations, in the articles of magizines, in the writings of books and stories, on billboards,perhaps just by simply living out their convictions on a daily basis, or even through using all of the above. One way L. Schuler has chosen to voice his opinion about religion is found in his short story "Bananas In My Teeth". The three main points I'd like to discuss on his opinions about religion will be

construed as rather grim, meaning that his outlook on religion will appear lacking positive convictions from within himself. This is well, for that is my intention. First, I will discuss examples of comments pertaining to his father. Next, those pertaining to his mother. Lastly, examples of comments relating to himself. Let's begin, shall we?

" What Schuler seems to be suggesting here, is that his father's religious convictions and humble lifestyle were no longer good enough for his mother, if indeed they ever were, wouldn't you say?
