Immigrants

Connor and Lamm feel that America already has many problems to take care of, so they feel more immigrants are giving more problems and making Americans unemployed. However, I was told by my mom not to throw trash anywhere. Wong, a Chinese-America official of the Mexican-American legal Defenses and Education Fund, indicates that some immigrants do not want to accept and be part of the unified group. It is a matter of time that immigrants will feel comfortable being in the new country. For example, Fallows reports that Lamm is exaggerating about ¡°taking twice as many¡± immigrants (5). So, Lamm points out that we can no longer allow every immigrants to come to the United States. One of the ways to solve this problem is offering scholarships, which can help American students to understand other foreigners¡¯ cultures and habits. Once again Takaki supports idea about offering scholarship by stating that developing greater understanding of each other and learning about different cultures and histories will help Americans to understand foreigners better (6). The world opens its arms to those who try to do their best, and I believe that the opportunities are open to everyone. For example, when I was in high school, I was walking down the street with my friends holding a bag of chips of our own. All immigrants do not come to the United States; instead they go to many different countries, too. Also Melvin Holl, Professor of history at the University of Illinois, Chicago, adds, ¡°their work ethic serves them well, and it serves us well¡± (¡°Changing Face of America¡± 143). The world is fair to everyone whether we are a foreigner or an American. This opportunity is better for students to learn about someone similar than learning about princes or presidents (Takaki 6). We should try to accept and understand each other because everyone living in the United States is American and we are united.
