This fire swept through the entire Edo region. That night, Bakufu military forces took it into their own hands and acted by themselves, to change what had happened. It stood 45 meters high, and the base of the tower was 38 meters long and 34 meters wide. The great tower of Edo burned down just a few years after it was built. There needed to be some negotiating, and there were three teams of negotiators. Hashimoto entered Edo as an Imperial messenger. To prove their loyalty, he had them do construction work on his castle. One reason that it took so long to build was because it took a few years to just collect all of the materials that were needed in order to reconstruct Edo.
