Huckleberry Finn
In the exciting adventure of Huckleberry Finn, I am going to show you how I am alike and different from one of the characters in the story for my summer reading assignment to describe how I am alike and different from one character in the story. Although their were many to choose from, I chose Tom Sawyer, even though he was notthe main character in this story, he looked to be the closest to what I would do in any situation now and then. Tom seems to be the most exciting, yet the most negligent I am alike Tom Sawyer in many ways, the first would have to be the way he lovesadventure. I love to do things that are not only exciting but yet have a plot, problem and solution to them. If it doesn't involve adventure or some sort of fun, I will either not go orbe very angry about the whole situation. Tom loved to read books I am quite fond of books. Another way I would have to be like Tom sawyer, is the way he wised his lifewas exactly like the book. I wish my life where like some books, for example, Indian inthe Cupboard. The main character in that story had the chance to meet real live peoplefrom early centuries and learned things never thought possible. I w
Tom might not have been neither smartest nor brightest person, but I must say he did know how to get what he needed to get. For example, Tom quotes this from chapter 12 pg 72, which shows that he is a no good thief, "Mornings, before daylight, I slipped into corn fields and borrowed a watermelon, or a mushmelon, or a punkin, or some new corn, or things of that kind. I am willing to help anyone when need be and I always think of my friends before anything else. I am like Tomin many ways but I am also different from Tom in many ways. Therefore, it goes to show you that I am not like Tom in many ways either. ish I could have goneon some of the adventures that the characters in the stories I have read been on. I would have to say, if I had some of Tom's book smarts I might be a better person, and if he had some of my witsmoreover, intelligence and un-selfishness than he would . Pap always said it warn't no harm to borrow things, if you was meaning to pay them back, sometime; but the widow said it warn't anything but a soft name for stealing, and no decent body would do it. Even though Tom used his adventures for deceit, he not only used them to free a close friendof Huck's but eventually, his lies and crimes would dwindle and he would learn his ways. So Tom wasn't the best person when it came to thinking of others. For example, he quoted, in a conversation with Huck"Ransomed? What's that?""I don't know. Don't I tell you it's in the books? Do you want to go? to doing different from what's in the books, and get things all muddled up?" Chapter 2, pg.
