Anabolic Steroids

             Anabolic steroids, or anabolic-androgenic steroids are the synthetic
             derivatives of the naturally occurring male anabolic hormone, testosterone.
             Anabolic steroids help the body to retain dietary protein, which aids in the
             development of muscles and strength, which is what attracts athletes to them.
             Steroids can be taken orally, injected intramuscularly, or rubbed on the
             skin when in the form of of gels or creams. These drugs are often used in
             patterns called "cycling". This involves taking multiple doses of steroids over
             a specific period of time, stopping, and then starting up again.
             Steroid users also like to combine several different steroids because
             they believe that the different steroids will interact to produce an effect on
             muscle size that is greater than using them individually. This process is called
             "Pyramiding" is the process where users slowly escalate steroid use,
             reaching the peak and mid-cycle, then tapering the doses toward the end.
             It is not only professional athletes that take anabolic steroids. It is any
             male, female, and even adolescents who take them-all with the desire to look,

             There are many health hazards that go along with using steroids.
             Steroid users may suffer from heart disease, liver cancer, depression, extreme
             hostility and aggression, eating disorders, stunted height, acne, and the risk of
             HIV and Hepatitis B by sharing needles for injection. Additionally, unlike
             other drugs, steroid dangers may not be manifest for months, years, or even
