There are many rappers and actors that have come and gone throughout the years who have made significant contributions to the industry. However none have even come close to what Tupac Amaru Shakur has done to revolutionize this controversial business. His love for rap music and his brilliant talent brought him fame and fortune through songs, poetry, and movies. Shakur changed what the public thought of rap and himself through his life and death, and his work. This is why he is considered a hero.

Born on June 16, 1971 to Alice Faye Williams, better known as Afeni Shakur, Tupac grew up in the slums of the Bronx. No matter where his family went Tupac was seriously distressed.

"I remember crying all the time. My major thing growing up was I couldn't fit in. Because I was from everywhere. I didn't have no buddies that I grew up with." says Shakur. The solitude began to wear on him. He withdrew into writing love songs and poetry. He was quoted saying, "I remember I had a book like a diary. And in that book I said I was going to be famous." He began writing lyrics, walking with a swagger, and taking advantage of his background in New York for all it was worth. Shakur, not wasting any time, recorded and released the hit album entitled Strictly 4 My N. (Ro, 1)

This decision sparked Tupac’s incredible 5-year period as a rapper and actor. Perhaps this is why his adversaries ended his life prematurely, they knew where he was going, to the top.

In conclusion, Tupac Shakur’s love for rap music and his brilliant talent brought him fame and fortune through songs, poetry, and movies. Shakur made statements that transformed the way the public thought about people who were viewed as outcasts of society, "All good n*ggers, all the n*ggers who change the world, die in violence. He altered what people contemplated about rap and in the process himself by means of his being and demise, but also through his work. By the age of twenty, Tupac had been arrested eight times and had served eight months in prison after being convicted of sexual abuse. Though his death was a jolt to his fans and the music community, Shakur himself often said that he expected he'd die by the sword before he reached the age of thirty. Not only are his previous albums still selling, but also new albums are being released frequently such as Until the End of Time and Better 2pac Days. In 1992 he released his solo debut album entitled 2Pacalypse Now, and in that same year he starred in the movie Juice, a film about gangs and violence that saw some Hollywood success. The Las Vegas attackers got away, and no arrests were made. " Tupac was a successful rap superstar that had the potential to become the most renowned rapper this world has ever known.
