To our surprise, there was a little Mexican boy not much older than us, and whom we both knew from school. Not knowing what to do, we ran as fast as we could to the nearest phone to call for help. A car speeding around the corner, coming up onto the curb and almost hitting us followed this. He was lying on the ground in a puddle of blood with his eyes closed and without any movement at all.
