Technology can be used in many different forms to aid classroom production. An example of a web site that offers this type of teaching is http://www. Another problem is that every student in the class does not have the luxury of a computer at home.

Another issue prevalent in diverse classrooms is the possibility of having students who speak two or more languages. Recent technology provides language education in the form of CD-ROM and programs on the internet. make it difficult to teach these types of classrooms. These students often have English as their second language and may need to work on it, or possibly continue working on their primary language.

As unfortunate as it may be, it has been shown that white families in America are three times more likely to own a computer than families of African American or Hispanic origin. This graph shows the relationship between race and having a computer in the home (Hancock,1995). The use of technology in classrooms is a great way to “bridge these gaps” (Tipton, Bennet 1). If there were computers in the classrooms, students of these back rounds would have the same access to information on the internet as their peers.

Using technology in today’s diverse classrooms is becoming more than an option, it is becoming a necessity
