Joan Of Arc was born in 1412. Her real name was Jeanette D' Arc. She was born in the town of France. Her father's name was Jacques D' Arc and her mother's name was Isabelle. Joan had four brothers and she was the fourth born. Joan's childhood was the same as the other children in her village. Her family was poor, so Joan had to help around the house. She had to help in the field by watching the animals and plowing the field. Joan learned about everything from her mother, like how to sew linen cloths, to spin cloths, religion, and house keeping skills. From her father she learned to farm and to attend the animals. She liked to spend the days in the field alone. She and her friends liked to dance and sing around a popular tree and wove wreath for the Our Lady Statues. Little was known about Joan's education because back then woman and girls weren't allowed to attend school. She learned how to read and write by going to church, because back than the priest knew how to read and write. Joan had a good relationship with her parents. Also they had to make sure that Satan wan not inspiring Joan. Joan wanted to go but she could never convince her parents to let her go at the age of thirteen by herself.
