The war is a result of the retaliation of the Acheans for the kidnapping of Helen. The Iliad is a story narrating the events of the Trojan War, but if we take a deeper look, much of this story revolves around feminism. Not only are the women in this book portrayed as beautiful, they also have immense strength, power, craft and skill. Eve is woman, and because of her, the prevalent belief that many see from this story is that all women are by nature disobedient, prone to temptation and evil, disloyal, untrustworthy, deceitful, seductive, and motivated in their thoughts and behavior purely by self-interest.

The representation of Helen in the Iliad is not much different from that of Eve. THE ILIAD is a great representation of the impact that women have on society. The story also recounts how the woman, whom Adam subsequently named Eve, was disobedient and succumbed to temptation the result of which was the expulsion of both Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. In the Garden of Eden, Eve was the picture of beauty and even seen as God’s ultimate creation. She was taken to Troy and to win back his wife, Menelaus must go to war with the Trojans.
