College Essay
Through my studies in high school, I have learned many valuable lessons. Understanding the importance of working toward a quality education is the most important life lesson I have learned. My academics should come first and foremost because that will determine my future and how well I can support myself when I am on my own. After this experience, I learned that I enjoy working with children, and I definitely want to make education my career choice. I worked as a painter and outside maintenance worker two years ago. All of these experiences and lessons have helped me to be ready for college, to be on my own, to work to achieve goals, and to be a better person. Athletics have played a major role in my life. I work every summer so I can help my parents pay for my college education. After that, my family and I moved to Georgia where we also lived for five years. I look forward to my association with Ohio University!. I have also helped coach a little kids' football camp that is held every summer. Working has instilled upon me responsibility, to respect my superiors, to do things that need to be done even when I am not asked to do them, and to strive for a good work ethic. I was born in Pennsylvania and lived there for five years. I have also done many things outside of school. This past summer I worked at a restaurant called JB's, which is a local ice cream shop. In all of these endeavors, I strive to work hard, to do my best, to be a leader, and to overcome adversity. All of these activities have taught me lessons I will never forget.
