Jane Erye has always had to deal with all different kinds of abuse throughout her entire life. Sometimes it was mental and other time it was physical. The most physical of the abuse came from when she was staying with her aunt and cousins. Even when she went away to her Lowood institute, she was constantly forced to ender inhuman standards of clothing and conditions. Then when she finally left Lowood institute, she was mentally toyed with by Mr. Rochester. In the beginning of the book, you could she that Jane Erye was no stranger to physical abuse. She was rejected by her Aunt who held the view that her son was perfect and could do no wrong. So Jane Erye was often punished for doing nothing wrong. This was soon when John walked into the library and asked where Jane Erye was. After he found her, he struck her for not calling him master. He makes her stand on a stool in the middle of the class and tells them that she is a liar and that no one should talk to her. Then, she was forced to endure many inhuman conditions while staying at Lowood Institute. When she go there, one of the first things she noticed was that they were fed barely enough to live on. This strengthens her endurance and mind. When he asked her what she would like to do she said she would like to go to school. Thus they made a committee to watch over the school and there Jane grew up and was a teacher till she was 18 yrs old. This shows how he wanted nothing but to teach then hardship. Even if you leaned over or didn't say something right they would yell at you until you either did as they said or would be hit with a reed stick. In this episode she finally loses her mind and calls John names in he then attacks her. One time the breakfast was burnt and barely eatable, so Mrs. First, she was abused with her aunt and cousins. Also I haven't read passed ch 29 so I will continue on abuse in those places in my final paper.
