Bradley's Sacrifice on Love

Milo, in the story "The Cinderella Waltz" is a tremendously selfish guy. He always wants to stand in the superior position of the relationship. He is not a good communicator to his partner. Because of that, there are some communicative matters existing between he and Bradley. Bradley is a very nice and stereotype guy. He is kind of weak and harmless. Milo is autonomous and Bradley is intimate. Two guys come together and create a gay love relationship with completely different personalities and characters. Moreover, the relationship lasts for years. Does it mean that they love each other? Yes, the relationship works out because of that evil four-letter words: love. Bradley loves Milo. Because of love, Bradley tolerates Milo's difference of dealing with the relationship. Because of love, Bradley sacrifices his truly feeling of expression, his little freedom of listening to s song, and his little respect from Milo. Because of love, Bradley comes across all obstacles of mis-understanding, arguments, conflicts and jeopardize to maintain his closeness relationship with Milo. Bradley loves and follows Milo no matter what kind of person he is, what kind of problems he has. It will last as long as Milo doesn'


2 Bradley tolerates Milo's difference of dealing with the relationship. He is able to endure the tensions generated by their inner conflicts without transforming them into a serious conflict between Milo and him. Bradley can recognize Milo's sense of independent who perceives himself as uniquely without feeling his partner's intimate needs, which is Bradley's desire of partners' connectedness and interaction. He says, "No one has to drink champagne, there is the usual assortment of liquor. He is more conscious of splitting the ambivalence by sacrificing himself totally for maintaining a polarization relationship. Because Bradley afraid to tell him the truth, Milo takes it for granted that he is not honest to him and lying to him. The rules of this couple's system command that pursuer-Bradley chase for after the distancer-Milo forever, but he never catch up or move ahead as long as the distancer needs ever greater areas of individual space. However, Milo just cannot give a little bit respect to his partner by not retorting. Moreover, he knows "the way he acts" and he knows that when he gets out there, "he will pull something on" him. 451)Bradley is not only endure the tensions generated by their inner conflicts but also makes most of commitments to Milo by sacrificing his freedom, respects and actually feeling expression to maintain this gay love relationship. 451) When "I" was asking if Bradley had got drink, Bradley "looks so nervously at Milo", and says, "He's got champagne.
