Argumentary Paper

             The subject I am about to argue, I realize, is not a very original one, but we were supposed to talk about something that fires us up. Well, this does more than that for me. I've grown up in a Christian home my whole life, my dad being a minister. So I feel that I have a pretty background for an argument of this subject.
             The subject of my argument, if you haven't already guessed, is that of religion in schools. Now I realize that coming from the son of a preacher that this may sound a little biased, well probably, but just hear me out. This is something that I've felt very strongly about for quite sometime. There are so many ways to go at this that I figured I'd take the direct approach. We need God back in our schools. Period.
             Now I've heard that this country was founded on the principle of religious freedom, and that's true. But it wasn't originally founded for Muslims or Buddhists. It was founded so that Christians could worship freely without being persecuted for their beliefs by the King of England. It wasn't founded based on the Koran. More than the majority of our founding fathers were active members in their churches. Noah Webster could literally quote the whole Bible, chapter and verse. These men all believed that you couldn't even call yourself an American if you didn't believe in God.
             So why take it out of our schools? Now I realize there are many ethnic races and backgrounds in our schools today and that they don't probably want some of this stuff in school. Well to that I say tough. If you emigrated here from another country then you should have known what you were coming to. Don't come over here and try to change the very reason that our great country was founded by taking it away. It's almost a disgrace to the many that died in the Revolutionary War for our freedom. Besides that, what could it hurt if God was back in school? ...
