Partial-Birth Abortions, are they wrong?
             Every once in a while, a topic of discussion will come up that makes some people cringe. Just at the mere thought of a debate, or that someone could be against a belief of his or her own, is mind-boggling! And so it begins, the heated debate. Debates can come in all lengths and sizes. However, none of them will usually be as strong or potentially violent as an ethical practice. Ethics can affect a person in ways he or she had no clue. The person may become upset and cry, feel sick, or even get violent. Although I myself remain calm over most debates, abortion is one that I feel rather strongly about. But it is not just abortion that I feel so stern over. In fact, I feel that it is a woman's right to choose what she does with her own body when it comes to abortion. Although, one situation that I do not accept the same is partial-birth abortion. This paper is being written as an informative approach to an unfortunately fast growing reality. By the end of this paper, the reader should have a clear understanding of what a partial-birth abortion is, how it is used, who performs it, what methods are used, the "pro's and con's" of partial-birth abortion, where I stand as the author, and how to put an end to such a horrific and tragic event.
             Partial-birth abortion is the partial delivery by means of the fetus passing from the uterus to the vagina, where the unborn child's life is terminated from the procedure. The procedure must take place during the second half of pregnancy and normally in the second trimester to be considered a partial-birth abortion. This definition, which Jennifer Doran states, although widely understood, is criticized for not using any medical terminology and has never helped in passing any legislature on this subject because of it (1).
