Gatsby was in love with Daisy. It all started when he was in the army. He met Daisy andthey fell in love. Then Gatsby was sent off on a mission. He returned but was sent toOxford on some misunderstanding. Daisy didn't wait for him. She started dating othermen. She wanted a man that could support her. That is how this theme appears in this novel. He setup for them two to meet together at his house. Without this themeGatsby probably would've talked to Daisy himself instead of hoping maybe one day shewould take the risk and go to Gatsby's house and talk to him. Since this book did have this theme I could never figure out what would happened next inthe book. If it wasn't in this book, Gatsby probably would have married Daisy before heleft, but instead he didn't. Hebought a mansion in Long Island. You see if Nick never set this meeting together, Gatsby probably would havenever seen Daisy again. Gatsby wandered around getting any kind of a job that would put food on the tableand a roof over his head. Little by little they started talking more andmore to each other. This man gotGatsby looking good and smart. Then Gatsby became rich through selling drugs. Tom and Daisy movedto Long Island. He never did get hold of her again. Gatsby was nervous at the fact that hewould see Daisy again, he was almost sick.
