Venus and Serena
Venus and Serena Williams are nationally known tennis players. They have earned many awards and trophies between them. Since Venus was four and Serena was five they have been working towards Olympic medals, coveted awards, and national championships. By the time Serena reached seventeen she had fifteen career titles in her name, whereas Venus held strong with twenty five by the time she reached nineteen years of age. Although Venus and Serena Williams are great tennis players together, they have seized many different things separately. Separately from Serena, Venus Williams has had numerous matches that she has lost and been defeated. However, as a professional tennis player she has gained many desirable trophies. Beginning in 1994, Venus went 7-5 in her twelve matches after playing only seven matches since her professional debut. In 1996, Venus’s serve at the Bauch and Lomb Championships was recorded at 108 miles per hour, which is the ninth fastest serve recorded on the tour that year. Two years later Venus won her first singles title, the IGA Tennis Classic, on March 1, 1998. Later in her career at the French Open, 2002, she won against her sister Serena 7-5, 6-3 and this match made Venus number one in the world. . . .
Unlike Venus, Serena had other coaches that helped train her to be a professional player. As a woman in professional tennis she is only allowed to play in woman’s matches. Her father started training her in tennis since she was four, she started playing competitively when she was twelve, and went professional at the age of fourteen. Serena gas deafeated five Top 10 players all together faster than any woman in the history of tennis since Monica Seles’ record from 1989. She finds time to design and make her clothing and the colors show off her personality in many ways. Serena has made a name for herself in great part to her father. Serena Williams also wants a spot in the richest tournaments and has kept her eye on one male tennis player, Gustavo Kuerten. He began watching it, and when he saw Virginia Ruzico win the tournament that day, he decided that he loved the sport and wanted to teach Venus how to play tennis. Her goal is to play against men in a professional tournament and defeat them. Venus needs to stay healthy and energized because of her grueling tennis schedule. Venus’ many achievements are mainly because of her training. She also tries to find time to listen to her favorite bands, Rancid and Hole, as well as cooking for her family. The most obvious reason why she needs to maintain a healthy diet is because she designs all the outfits she plays tennis in. Serena has proven to the world that she is not to be placed in her sister’s shadow because she has worked and trained just as hard and is an increasingly more popular tennis player. was Richard Williams’s advisory coach that helped make sure Serena’s head was in the game.
