             The development of electronic games nowadays is very fast, not just people can play it alone, but they can also play with other players from different places. That is what people call online games, of course we need internet to play it, but don't think only rich people can play it. Now in Jakarta we have a lot of places called 'warnet' which stands for 'warung internet'. In that place people can play or browse the internet with quite cheap price. The price is in to from Rp.2500-Rp.4000 an hour. So, everyone from high to low economy class can play the online games. What the writer will discuss here is the effects of playing online computer games for high school students. Why high school students? Because high school students always go to 'warnet' the minute after they go home from school. If you go to warnet on 1.30 pm all white and grey uniform must be sitting in front of the computer and enjoying their games.
             They are a lot of kinds of computer online games, RO(Ragnarok Online), Xian, Gunbound, RYL(Risk Your Life), Tantra, O2Jam just several examples of it. The writer will discuss the effects of playing video games for high school students.
             The effects are divided in to two; the first one is the advantages. Yes, the advantages. Don't think playing online games don't have advantages. The first advantage is that students can become more creative and imaginative. The second one, in RPG(Role Playing Games) they learn the strategy of economy, they can also learn the geography of a country, for example the games Xian, which setting is in the Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan. The last one is they can make new friends. This could be concluded in to advantage and disadvantage.
